According to China's customs express data, from January to June 2020, China's exports of textiles and clothing reached us $125.19 billion, an increase of 3.2 percent year-on-year and an increase of 5.6 percentage points over the same period last year. 

In the face of the difficulty of a general decline in global trade market demand and the test of the new epidemic situation of pneumonia, as a major producer of epidemic prevention materials, China's production capacity of key medical materials such as protective clothing and face masks has recovered rapidly, in all efforts to protect the domestic epidemic prevention and control needs, but also to support the global epidemic prevention and control.

 It is reported that this year, masks, protective clothing and other related anti-epidemic materials, directly led to the export of China's textile and clothing growth. China exported 70.6 billion face masks to 200 countries and regions from March 1 to May 31, according to data from the "China Action against new pneumonia" . From the point of view of key export markets, at present, the European Union, the United States, Japan on China's imports of face masks and other anti-epidemic materials increased significantly. 

According to the Statistics Office of the European Union, the EU imported 4.76 billion euros of face masks from China from January to April, 11.8 times more than the same period last year. According to data from the US Customs and the Japanese Ministry of Finance, from January to May, the US and Japan imported 5.59 billion US dollars and 267.84 billion Japanese yen respectively from China, up 4.7 times and 1.6 times respectively. China accounts for 89.2% and 93.9% of the import market in USA and Japan respectively. At the same time, the traditional clothing market demand is still depressed.

 China's garment exports reached us $51.08 billion from January to June 2020, down 19.4 percent year-on-year, according to customs data. In the view of the industry, this year China's other categories of textile and apparel export pressure is still not small.
